AbaQulusi Municipality Public Participation
Public Participation is a section that is responsible for ensuring and encouraging the involvement of the communities and community organization in local government. Section 19 of the Municipal Structures Act , 1998 encourages the Citizens to actively participate in Local Government.
Furthermore the aforemantoned section has got two employees who are responsible for the section. Amongst other duties is to establish the Ward Commities in all 23 wards and monitor their performance, arrange and take the Office Of The Speaker to the communities of AbaQulusi Municipality while providing the administrative support to the Executive Office. Furthermore the section also receives Ward reports regarding Operation Sukuma Sakhe through War-rooms, attend to community issues including attending to community meetings, issues of Rapid Response, also liaising with other Municipalities through District Public Participation Forums (DPPD) and through Provincial Public Participation In conclusion the section is also responsible for providing Cogta with the Portfolio Of Evodence on Ward Committee functionality during verification.
