AbaQulusi Local Municipality Political Leadership recognizes the significant  role that is being played by  Amakhosi  through their knowledge and relations with the communities they lead which  are integral to the implementation of service delivery.

The aforementioned resolution is in line with the provision of Section 154(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa 1996; parallel to this legislative arrangement is Section 81 of the Municipal Structures Act, which allows the MEC for CoGTA to identify Amakhosi to serve in Municipal Councils.

In 2021 , the Former Speaker Cllr. MB Khumalo ensured that Amakhosi aseNdlunkulu were provided with tools of trade , workshopped, assigned to Portfolios and even allowed to attend Council Meetings.
