Is responsible for creating, maintaining and documenting administrative systems, procedures and workflows. Corporate Services is an integral part of the support structures of the organisation. It is strategically positioned to enable the organisation to achieve its mandate. It is the axil on which the various departments in the organisation rely on to carry out their various functions and roles.

Sections under Corporate Services:

General Administration

Co-ordination of office cleaning including order equipment and items, outlining cleaning routines and supervising overall cleanliness of municipal offices and properties. Call Centre Management

Human Resource Management and Development

The section is responsible for all functions of Human Resources. Ensuring professionalism at all times, implementation of policies and procedures relating to HR, including recruitment, training and development, disciplinary procedures, Performance Management System, development of Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report and conditions of employment. Ensuring that all levies due to be refunded by the SETA are claimed and received. Payroll Administration (actual payment done by finance departments) The Human Resources Section amongst other functions, coordinate development, review and implementation of municipal organisational structure.

  • Attend to the human resources requirements of the various municipal departments
  • Establish and maintain a working environment that encourages personal growth, development, enrichment and job satisfaction.
  • Ensure that human resources policies and procedures are administered in such a way as to protect the interests of both the Municipality and its employees

Fleet Management

Operation of the unit including planning, distribution, utilization and maintenance of municipal vehicles whilst attending to the procedures, applications, systems and controls to facilitate support and optimum functionality of fleet unit.

To ensure the effective and efficient control, utilization, safeguarding and management of Municipality’s vehicles plant and equipment.

Council Support

Guides the councillors as to their duties and responsibilities and makes them aware of relevant legislation and regulations; ensures proper orientation and induction of councillors; provides practical support and guidance (including training) and raises matters of importance; ensures that councillors have access to information and manages council papers and documents (council resolutions and record keeping).

Provide secretarial support to Council and its Committees, thereby implementing its activities in line with its roster of meetings, thereby adhering to the policies that regulate such activities. Council Support is also the custodian of Protocol

Information Communications and Technology

To provide a secure ICT infrastructure which delivers appropriate level of data integrity and availability. To align technology with municipality goals, enabling a contribution to municipality’s strategic objectives. ICT esnures innovative solutions, strong cyber security, skilled workforce, collaboration & teamwork, effective communication and effective ICT governance.

Communications

Is the link between the Municipality, its citizens and stakeholders. It ensures image and brand management of the Municipality. Focuses on media liaison with a purpose of marketing, promoting the Municipality while engaging, educating, supporting and building as well as encouraging participation of the citizens, as well as stakeholder management and engagement. The objective is to further develop and maintain a positive public perception and image of the Municipality through the development and implementation of policies such as communications strategy, social media, media management, internal communications and Batho Pele service manual. Further ensures media liaison, management and monitoring while building media relations.
