Giving support to the needy and the vulnerable people in our communities is a priority to our municipality, which is why on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, the Mayor Councillor Martin Mtshali, Speaker Councillor Micheal Khumalo and municipal officials visited the Bhekuluzulu township to donate food parcels to families that were affected by very strong winds of 24 March 2017 which damaged their houses. More than 70 families were affected.

Launch of electrification project in eMahlathini, Mvunyane

The Deputy Mayor of AbaQulusi Municipality Cllr. Jerry Sibiya had on the 23 May 2016 unched introduced contractors for the electrification project of the community of eMahlathin in Mvunyane. The project will see 81 households being electrified at a tune of R1.5 million. The project will be managed by Isivuvu Technical solution and should be completed by June this year. This project will contribute greatly to the upliftment of the lives of this community. It will also provide a number of jobs for the locals during the implementation phase.

This is the day that was arranged by the Wellness Officer for AbaQulusi Municipal employees in attempt to educate municipal employees about how well can they manage their finances. The day was a great success hosted by different financial institutions in assisting the municipal staff about proper management of their finances so that they do not find themselves in deep debts.


The Director of Corporate Services and the AbaQulusi Municipality Wellness team together with Management and the Council had ventured into many wellness campaigns that are scheduled on behalf of AbaQulusi Municipality going forward, with one of them having been hosted recently during the 22nd of November 2018 at Bhekuzulu Community Hall, where most of the employees and the Bhekuzulu citizens attended.
