FENCING OF THE LANDFILL SITE

The Speaker Councillor Micheal Khumalo introduced contractors to begin work on the fencing of the Landfill site, at a public meeting held on the 8th March 2017. The aim of this project is to ensure that the landfill site is well regulated and harzards such as fire are kept under control. It also aimed at raising public awareness and instilling in individuals of the need to keep our environment clean and free of waste at all times, Committing the municipality to sound waste management practices, and Broadening access to the recycling industry by eradicating poverty through job creation. The project will take six months to complete and will employ local labour.
